Now in the home-stretch before our wedding date (we currently have under 50 days to go!) I’ve been on the hunt to find my wedding perfume! I’ve got lots of fragrance reviews coming on my Instagram and on this blog about this topic, but for any brides out there I wanted to shout about a wonderful appointment I had last month with Jo Malone.
In selected stores, they have a ‘Scent your wedding experience’ which was an absolute joy. With all the stress of wedding planning it was so lovely to take some time out from spreadsheets, rsvp lists and timelines and instead experience a little pamper.
You can book this free experience in quite a few Jo Malone stores (take a look at their website to see which ones), but if you’re in London I really recommend the Covent Garden store as they also have an engraving machine! So you can personalise the bottle of your favourite fragrance with anything you like – the date, your new initials, name, etc (this also makes for a gorgeous present, I’m thinking Mother’s Day which is coming up on March 27th!)
The experience lasts 30 minutes and after discussing the theme of your wedding day, you can smell a huge array of Jo Malone fragrances, eventually narrowing down and even combining scents to create a totally unique, personalised fragrance just for you and your day. I love the idea of layering up a Jo Malone shower gel and body lotion and then applying a different fragrance on top for a really beautiful, long lasting and unique fragrance for the day.
There are so many Jo Malone fragrances I adore, but I narrowed it down to two that make me feel beautiful and worn together are so magnificent. Introducing Myrrh and Tonka layered with Scarlett Poppy.
I also love the idea of having candles or reed diffusers in your selected scent dotted around the venue to make the whole day an olfactory experience.
Let me know if you’ve had the chance to snifff either of my wedding perfumes. I am obsessed with them and can’t wait to wear them for years to come knowing they will remind me of my special day.
Lots of love, Katie xxx
