DATE RECOMMENDATIONS – Mr Foggs House of Botanicals

Today I have a wonderful cocktail bar recommendation for you, which hopefully you’ve heard about lots already… if not, you’re missing a trick!

Introducing you to Mr Foggs which is described as a collection of adventurous bars transporting you back to the Victorian era. There are 6 different Mr Foggs bars to experience and each one completely different and unique, with themed cocktails and decor to match.

Mr Foggs House of Botanicals is one of my favourites (I’ve only been to 3 of them but this one definitely stands out). As someone who is obsessed with flowers and house plants, the interior here is my dream!

The ground floor of this bar is really pretty with a centrepiece of tropical plants and hanging birdcages from the ceiling BUT I would really recommend booking a table and asking specifically for a table upstairs (top trick) as it’s wonderful up there!

Firstly – the seats are much comfier (floral patterned arm chairs rather than high stools) and you literally feel like you’re sat in your grandma’s living room with garish wallpaper and antlers adorned on the walls.

The cocktails here are delicious and as the theme of the bar is flora and fauna, all cocktails are based on flowers. I had the Apple Blossom and it was delicious – sweet and fruity with rum, mulled port reduction, and pomegranate and apple juice. I also tried the ‘Bhang’ which is CBD oil infused mezcal with chartreuse herbal liquor with lime and sugar syrup – like a cbd margarita which came in a vase that looked like a bong (haha!) full of smoke which gave it a real in depth flavour.

They also hold lots of events at the House of Botanicals. Every Tuesday they hold a terrarium class upstairs (photographed below) and for national holidays (Easter/bank holidays) they hold brunches!

terrarium class!

Mr Foggs is a great place for a pre-dinner drink, especially if you want to impress or are hosting people visiting London. We took my boyfriend’s parents here and all had a great evening. One thing though – it’s not cheap, each cocktail around the £13 mark so it’s definitely for special occasions!
