I hope you’re ready for some brunch porn because this post is FILLED with a load of mouth-watering breakfasts I’ve eaten at one of my favourite East London date spots!
Introducing you to Brunswick East, a cafe in Dalston serving Australian inspired brunch and let me tell you, it’s delicious. It opened it’s doors in 2015 by two sisters with the goal of bringing the best of Aussie cafe culture to the east and they’ve nailed it.
Alongside brunches, they also have an artisan bakery serving home baked cakes and bread – from sourdough loaf to take home, to vegan snickers bars, there will be a sweet treat for everyone! And in terms of coffee, they serve the most gorgeous Square Mile speciality coffee, which is divine too.
The setting is minimalistic, the decor consisting of white concrete walls, chipboard tables and scattered with pops of greenery in the form of plants on each table but the food is far from plain. I’ve never experienced a brunch menu like this – on their current menu some of the options are chilli poached eggs (need to try this), Courgette & Pumpkin pancakes with carrots and labneh, A Walk in the Forest (vegan mushroom on toast with celeriac puree and shallots). My favourite is the Autumn Hash – a potato hash with bacon crumb, fried egg and red pepper ketchup. You can also add extras like London made halloumi, avocado, bacon, vegan feta etc!
Also there is an outside area where you can sit and eat in the summer months although this get’s super busy so be prepared to hang around for a table.
I really recommend Brunswick East if you’re after a slightly different brunch menu to your typical eggs benedict & pancakes, it’s definitely one to impress without looking like you’ve made too much effort – perfect for the morning after the night before!
