My Skincare Heroes from Liberty London

ad / In collaboration with Liberty London

Tis’ truly the season to switch up your skincare regime and today I’m pinching myself to have partnered with Liberty London; one of my favourite stores, to share some of my favourite skincare heroes available online and in their store.

I wanted to ask If anyone else is struggling with the change in season & the winter’s air affecting their skin at the moment? Because mine has been in desperate need of some extra hydration, exfoliation and a luxurious pamper! I’ve also noticed that my skin has just become more sensitive and susceptible to irritants the older I’ve got and now in my 30’s, using products that are gentle and kind to skin is high on my list of priorities. So today I’d like to introduce you to some products from Liberty that have helped transform my skin recently.

Fingers scooping out thermal omorovicza cleansing balm

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm This balmy cleanser has a cult following and it is such a treat to use at the end of each day. It contains naturally black mud sourced from Europe’s largest thermal lake, full of a mineral complex which help detoxify and purify the skin to gently remove impurities. It’s wonderful ingredients also help to remove makeup and cleanse my skin, without stripping it, leaving my skin feeling plump, nourished and incredibly soft after each use.

Also, the whole ritual of using this is just a delight; I scoop out the black balm and spend some time massaging it into my skin, before removing it with a hot flannel (this pot also includes a little finger flannel which is so cute). I then either follow with a second cleanse or allow my skin to soak up any remaining balm. It just feels like the perfect me-time and pamper to end each day.

Kiehls Centella Senstive Cleansing Cream – I’ve recently added this cleansing cream to my regime – using it both in the morning AND as a second cleanse in the evening. It’s PH balanced and included in Kiehls’ dermatologist solutions range so it’s super mild but helps to remove dirt, oil and impurities without irritation. Similarly to the Omorovicza balm, you can either wash away with a flannel and water, OR wipe away with a reusable cotton pad to benefit from added hydration throughout the day.

Votary Super Seed Serum – Wow, wow, wow. This serum is pricey, but I would buy it again in a heartbeat! This Super Seed Serum is perfect for delicate or irritated skins as it soothes, protects, hydrates and nourishes – I just couldn’t love it enough. It’s full of ingredients that are extremely gentle on the skin, help boost skins collagen levels and deliver antioxidants for hydration. My skin reacts to a lot of new skincare products, but it looked so healthy and beautiful immediately after using this and my skin continues to lap it up. It also helps to calm any redness which is a bonus if you’re struggling with a breakout!

Mario Badescu Silver Powder – Talking of breakouts – my go-to product to help calm and treat them is now this! It’s a bit of an odd product that can be quite messy, but it works brilliantly well to unclog pores and help draw out any blackheads or impurities, leaving an incredibly soft, clear complexion. To use it, you dampen a reusable cotton pad or a makeup brush, dip it into the powder and apply to your t-zone or any breakouts. Leave on for 10 minutes or until it’s dry and then remove with a toner – I’ve been using a moisturising toner to remove it and I just love the results. I haven’t had any new breakouts since incorporating this into my regime and my pores are now miniscule!

Kiehls SPF – Finally, one of the most important products for everyone to have in their skincare regime is an SPF. Yes, you need to use one everyday, even in the winter. I love Kiehls SPF products as they go up to an SPF50 with UVA + UVB protection, but they aren’t too sticky and thick on the skin. This one sinks in really well and hydrates my skin meaning I can get on with my day without worrying about any damage.

I also wanted to flag here that there is no point in layering up beautiful, rich & ingredient packed serums and moisturisers if you haven’t exfoliated properly before hand! Those ingredients need to sink into the skin to be able to show the greatest effects and so liquid exfoliators such as p50 and impurity extracting masks such as Mario Badescu’s Silver Powder will help to clear the excess build up of dry skin so you can really get the best from your skincare.

I hope my mini reviews here have been helpful to those looking for some new skincare recommendations for sensitive, acne prone or normal skin types!

Be sure to check out the Liberty website to see the full skincare brands they stock too. Liberty also have a really fun interactive ‘skincare myths’ tool on their website, where experts debunk skincare myths sent in by the public – I really recommend you check out! You can find that here!

Lots of love, Katie x
