It’s been a hot minute since I last wrote a life update, in fact it’s been almost a year and SO much has changed since then… I’m no longer in my 20’s, no longer living in East London and also no longer single!
I’d definitely like to start using this blog more like an online diary & to share my thoughts, feelings, hopes and dreams as and when, and so I thought this kinda post might be a good intro into that.
I think the past year has seen the biggest change in my life to date and also the biggest growth in myself personally. I wrote that last post from a home I wasn’t particularly happy in and also after having been through a real work crisis; I felt really unmotivated and lost about the direction my career was going in, like I was drowning in a sea of incredible content creators, unable to keep up with the flow.
Since then, I’ve moved into a gorgeous home with two of my oldest school friends which has been just a dream. We’ve laughed and cried together, had our ups and downs (as I’m sure any household does) and we’ve all helped each other grow as women and learnt some real valuable lessons along the way.
But I guess the biggest news is that after meeting my dream guy on an unexpected Hinge date last October, we’ve decided to pack our belongings to start a new chapter together. We’ve been flat hunting (to rent) for the last few weeks and after seeing some bloody beautiful and some downright atrocious properties, we’ve finally found the place we’ll both call our next home (side note: it’s the most bizarre apartment, I absolutely can’t wait to share it with you guys)!
Work has been going much better too in that I feel like I’ve finally found my ‘niche’ and in turn, I feel much more content in the direction I’m heading it. I started this blog and my YouTube channel 9 years ago when I was super young, naive and wanted to talk about nothing but lipstick and nail polish, but since then my interests have obviously changed! Talking about dating, relationships and sex alongside my regular fashion & lifestyle content has me much more excited and I think that reflects in my videos!
Other notable changes: I took up a three month handstand course at the beginning of this year and LOVED it but still haven’t mastered the art of a proper one. Shame. Also my boyfriend G and I have also taken up Lindy hop/swing dance classes which is the cutest thing ever, I always look forward to our lessons (even if they are first thing on a Sunday morning).
Other than those big changes, everything else is pretty much the same old! I’ve got to say, I absolutely love being in my 30’s… maybe I’ll save all those reasons why for a post of it’s own!
Love you guys lots! Katie x
