I know a lot of you discovered my content online after I shared my skin journey over on YouTube – I’ve always been very open about my skincare struggles over the past 13 years and it’s been great to bond with those also struggling! If you’re unfamiliar with my story, I developed an onset of bad skin at the age of 18 and struggled with it for 10 constant years. These days I still experience hormonal blemishes, last year I was diagnosed with rosacea and I occasionally get eczema around my eyes when I’m stressed, so I’ve really been through the mill and I know how much skin problems can affect confidence and mental health.
For the past month I have been using theNo7 Derm Solutions Skincare range, which have formulas proven to soothe, hydrate and rebalance sensitive, dry and oily skin – whatever your skin type. This range was created to cater for those who sometimes struggle with skincare issues (from dryness, uneven skin tone, dull skin, skin texture), whilst helping to hydrate and leave visibly healthier looking skin.
One of my favourite products in the range is the 100-Hour Hydration Cream for Dry + Sensitive Skin. I find this hydrates and gives my skin comfort and a glow without leaving me oily or too greasy. It’s my go-to, morning and evening. I know so many of you will love how thick and soothing this cream is too!
To wash my face I’ve been using the Comforting Cream Cleanser for dry skin which leaves my skin feeling clean without that tight feeling you can sometimes get after washing. As it’s a cream cleanser, it doesn’t foam (its texture is instead like a moisturiser) but I find it removes my makeup gently.
What can I do to improve my skin health?
I think it’s important to remember that skin health is impacted by soooo many different factors and triggers – everyday stresses, sleep, diet (for me milk is a no go!), also hormones. When my skin starts to flare then I firstly try to be kind to myself because I know stressing can sometimes make it worse. I up my water intake, make sure I’m getting enough sleep and stick to my skincare regime without feeling tempted to introduce new quick fixes that could often trigger my problems even more!
I have sensitive skin and need products that won’t irritate, what can you recommend?
One thing I love about the No7 Derm Solutions range is that the core range has been clinically tested and is also non-comedogenic. The products are all suitable for different skin types including dry, sensitive and blemish prone.
I get hormonal blemishes, is there anything I can use?
I feel your pain, I still struggle with hormonal blemishes too! I would recommend the Skin Balancing Serum formulated with an anti-oxidant complex of vitamin C, E and Green tea and helps improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, texture and pores. The Lightweight Hydrating Lotion would be great as it hydrates leaving oily, blemished skin feeling calmed and soothed.
When will I start to see a difference?
I felt a difference immediately in terms of tightness and comfortability, especially with hydration, but you should use the range to achieve healthier looking skin in just 4 weeks!
