After doing the same old makeup routine for the past two years, I’ve recently been feeling a real urge to switch things up a bit! I’m sobored of the same neutral eyeshadows, peach lipstick & matte pink blush and so when Boots (one of my favourite high street stores) asked me to create a look inspired by this year’s summer beauty trends, I felt like it was a calling, haha!
Boots have the BIGGEST range of makeup and perfume products available from a massive selection of brands; it truly is a beauty lovers heaven.
I wanted to pull on two of my favourite 2019 summer beauty trends for this looks, the first is glowing, fresh skin.
I decided to use the bareMinerals Original Foundation for the base as, as well as containing SPF 15 (important to wear SPF all year round), but it also has the most beautiful buildable, natural looking coverage. It evens out my skin tone, covers blemishes and redness but also leaves my skin looking like… skin! It also isn’t heavy at all, meaning I don’t feel like I’m about to sweat it all off in the warmer months. I also used the Sleek Highlighting Palette in Solstice for a gorgeous champagne shimmer along my cheekbones for an added fresh glow!
The second beauty trend I was SO excited about trying… neon liner! I saw the most beautiful trio of bright coloured eyeliners from Fenty Beauty in Boots and couldn’t resist. Paired with a natural shadow in the crease of my eye, I drew a cat flick using both the pastel blue and neon green along my lash line and, paired with a couple of lashings of mascara, it looks so striking!
I’ve also started experimenting more with switching up my fragrance for the warmer months. I’ve always loved the idea of picking a different perfume for different times of the year or for certain holidays, so that when you smell it again in the future you’ll be taken back to that happy time! I’ve been trying the Ellie Saab Girl of Now Forever perfume recently and it’s the perfect summer mix of sweet and fruity with notes of raspberry, lemon peel, blackcurrant and rose.
