REVIEW: Cetraben for Ezcema Sufferers!

I am cursed with eczema which flares up quite badly at certain times of the year; like now, for instance!  A mix of warmer weather plus stress really plays havoc with my legs and the tops of my arms/shoulders and I’m currently sporting some lovely patches of super itchy dry skin which does make me feel a little self conscious!

I’ve tried a plethora of lotions and potions for eczema in the past (you can see a big eczema blog post here) but I wanted to shout about my current favourites!

I have really, really been loving Cetraben to soothe my flare up’s recently.  It’s available in 2 formulas:

– A Lotion which is lightweight, dries quickly and is great for large areas of trouble.

– And the Cream (my personal favourite), which is thicker and tends to make my eczema feel more smoothed and moisturised.

I normally apply the cream after showering/bathing and also before bed (if I remember).

I find that when I don’t apply it, my skin is much more irritated and I’m more prone to itching than if I did – which in itself is fantastic.  The range is also fragrance and colour free which makes it ideal for sensitive skin.  The range is available from Boots, Tesco and Superdrug for around £4-8 which may seem pricey but it’s cheaper than a prescription which potentially thins the skin!  It’s also on offer from Superdrug here (link).

I really hope this helps at least one person out there!  I know how agonising it can be – Andrew gets really frustrated when he see’s me clawing away at my skin every evening but sometimes the itch is just unbearable, and to be left with red patchy skin isn’t nice in the summer months!

Do you have any dry skin recommendations?

I've suffered from ecezma since the day I was born! I used to be wrapped in bandages to stop itching myself..it was really bad. It calmed down a lot as I got older but within the last 2 years, it's gone so bad! I've never seen it flare up as much as it has before, and I've tried so many ointments and creams – both either prescribed or over the counter and nothing has really helped.

I'm definitely going to try Cetraben the next time I'm in the shops – thanks for the recommendation! 😀

As an eczema sufferer, I know how aagonizing and frustrating it can be. I have one of the rarest type, nummular eczema where there's no cure only treatments. My go to products are Moogoo Irritable Balm, an amazing non steroidal cream.

Thank you for sharing these products! I don't have eczema, but I do have really sensitive skin. It likes to flare up with different scented products, so I always have to use non-scented ones.

I and also my buddies ended up examining theSomatodrol excellent techniques from your site and then then I got a horrible feeling I had not thanked the website owner for those secrets. Most of the young boys were consequently passionate to study them and have in effect certainly been tapping into those things. http://gojivitafacts.com/somatodrol/

Omg I was so happy to find your blog because their are hardly any beauty bloggers who have skin conditions like me.

I've never really found anything that has helped mine until I tried La Roche-Posay's Lipikar Baume AP and it was a bit of a miracle worker for me as it cleared up my worst patch pretty much over night x

I'm going to keep my eye out for these next time I hit the shops! I found in the 23 years of having ezcema that nothing will ever truely fix the problem…but I can make the whole process alot better with certain creams.
Eumocreme is my personal favourite but my skin builds up a tolerance for it over a few weeks,
    Great post.

So I usually use Diprobase for my Lichen Sclerosis but when I went to get it last they did not have it so recommended Cetraben. It really stung and made the area dry. I ended up taking it back to the shop and went back to using Diprobase.

Really good post if it works for you but thought i’d point out that it doesn’t work for everyone.

Also, I can get dry skin on my face (mainly around eyes/ on eyelids) and Facetheory products worked really well for me. I got the unscented version and it cleared up the dry skin straight away.
