This is a post I have been so excited to write for so long, but now the time has finally come, I’m a bit at a loss of how to express what I want to say! I guess I’ll start from the beginning…
I’m a super passionate person and I will do whatever I put my heart to. From selling body butters to 60 year old women, to managing social platforms for clients at work, I have given every job my all & my utmost best. But for some reason, for a long time I couldn’t seem to, how do I say this… allow myself to become confident enough to really take a leap and fulfil my dreams.
That was until last November. I had a bad time last year (It had got to a point where I was permanently down, crying daily and I think a part of that was because I felt like the online space around me was growing so rapidly and I was still sitting on the fence watching everything fly by, unable to move).
After months and months of being stuck in this negative cycle, I started seriously thinking about where my life was heading and what I wanted to be doing vs. what I was doing, and I decided to step out of my comfort zone and take matters into my hands. I handed my notice in at work – the job I LOVE and adore. This in itself was hard. I cried, my boss got a little teary (I’m the longest standing member of the company) and it was emotional. It was then agreed that I would be signed by the first and the best social talent management company in the world and my dreams really became a reality.
So… after 7 months of finding a replacement for me in my team, it’s finally time to announce that from next week I will be a freelance, full time blogger and YouTuber, managed by Gleam Futures. I can not contain my excitement for this next chapter in my life.
I started this blog 5 years ago in my university bedroom, preferring to write about lipsticks rather than going out and partying and never once did I think I would be able to do this as my job. I know it’ll be difficult, I know I may struggle to pay my billz & I’ll feel bloody lonely some days cooped up in my flat, but I can’t express how happy I am to try!
I have so much content that I can’t wait to create for you and I really hope you stick around. I wouldn’t be able to do this without your support. I really can’t put into words how happy you guys have made me.
Thank you all for supporting and reading my ramblings. I truly love you all!
TL;DR: I’ve quit my job to try my hand at blogging/youtubing full time. Really hope you all stick with me for this journey, your support means the world!
xxxxx
Congratulations Katie! Yours was the first beauty blog I ever started following all those years ago – so pleased for you, and completely deserved! All the best for the next chapter!

Ahhh congratulations Katie! This is SO exciting. So sorry to hear you were feeling so down, I can really relate to that – it's something I'm battling with at the moment. Trying to decide how best to address it in terms of my job and my blog, so it's really reassuring to see you doing so well and being so successful.
Really, really happy for you x

You must feel so excited about the future, its hard to put yourself out there & take a leap of faith. I left a very good job as a PA 5 years ago to work for myself & be more creative & I have never looked back. Sure some months are hard financially but I feel more fulfilled, more me & most importantly I feel like I have being more true to who I am. Listening to your intuition & following your dreams is the most important thing. I wish you every success & I will be sticking around to see what you have in store for us. xx

CONGRATULATIONS KATIE!!! Well deserved, you have been one of my favourite youtubers to watch ever since I first stumbled upon your channel (you talked about a book written by a Czech author in that first video I saw… no longer sure which author or which book, but I totally remember that fact, haha) and I somehow know that you will do great :)) Good luck on your ''new'' journey x
I'm so excited for you too! I'm glad you're feeling a lot better than you were in November.

Good luck! Wish you the best! 😀
This is so exciting and I'm so happy for you! Your blog was the FIRST one I ever started following (in 2010) and I really enjoy your Youtube videos as well! My favourites have been your accent challenge with your boyfriend, your lookbooks (I think you have a nice style and I love your hair!) and of course makeup tutorials and your lipstick favourites videos… I can see you becoming huge on Youtube! All the best for this next step in your career. 🙂
P.S. It was you, among some other bloggers/vloggers who gave me the idea of what I want to do in life. I admired people who worked in the creative industry, and it took me years to realize that I can actually pursue that too with my current studies in the university! I want to become a better photographer as well!
Well done missus! Popping in on my long forgotten blog to say a proper congratulations, since the twitter character limit kinda ruins it!:)
I was in the same situation last year, the bloody job I was in had me so depressed I couldn't get out of bed. Quitting to do Youtube full time was the best decision I've ever made, and I'm super proud of how far I've managed to come, so I have high hopes for you!:)
And hey, with a team like Gleam behind you, you're guaranteed success, they're amazing! I'd actually love to work with them myself, I like that its like a small lovely family rather than a massive company working with 5,000 people. Just not sure what the best way to "apply" is.:')
Anywho, I can't wait to see how you do! I'm a somewhat new follower of yours, but seeing stories similar to my own warms my heart and I'm like "YEAH YOU CAN DO THIS!" haha!
I've been YouTubing full time for just under a year now, so if you ever want to chat about it feel free to drop me a message anywhere.:) I use the same username pretty much everywhere! x
Congratulations and the best of luck!!!
That's amazing! I'm so happy for you! I think you really deserve this. I love seeing my favourite bloggers and vloggers make that leap to going full time. It makes me feel proud to be part of this community. Good luck and I'll be watching and reading for sure. : )
