Transitioning to Autumn

Well, hello October!  My favourite time of the year has arrived and I can not contain my excitement.  There’s nothing quite like autumn in London, when the leaves start dropping and the streets come alive once more with excitement for winter festivities ahead.  We can finally dig out our cosy scarves, dust off our tubs of hot chocolate powder and when finally cosy nights in with friends are much preferred to trips out to bars.

One of my favourite parts of autumn though, and the cold weather arriving, is layering & dressing more cosy!

I vowed to myself at the beginning of the year that I would start adding more colour into my wardrobe and I’m happy to say it’s one resolution that I have stuck to wholeheartedly (perhaps even, too much)!

I was the girl who would feel uncomfortable in anything other than black, grey and white (that goes for shoes and bags too)!  Any hint of colour would make me feel over dressed and so I would hide behind dark shades in the shadows.  BUT, look at me now!  A barbie pink fluffy jumper and the most exquisite tan leather bag on my back and I feel like I’m ready to rule the world… well, autumn, anyway.

I have pretty much not taken these jeans off since purchasing them a couple of weeks ago, they are the grey, ripped, petite Joni jeans from Topshop. The length is perfect, they are super stretchy, comfortable and they just go with everything.

The jumper was another recent purchase from Bershka at ASOS and it’s so soft and snuggly it’ll be a staple in my wardrobe all winter.

The boots are from eBay and were an absolute bargain at just under £5!  I featured them in my recent eBay shoes haul which you can watch here.  I’m seriously impressed with them.

This bag has also been a godsend.  May I introduce you to the tan Svendborg from dbramante1928.

I’ve bought rucksacks from high street stores in the past, which (and I’m not even exaggerating here) have proceeded to break after 2 uses (the zip fell off on the first and the handle  ripped at the seem on the second).  Now I have absolutely no concerns with any of the above happening with this rucksack.  You can tell just by looking at it that the quality is just perfect – it’s made from full-grain leather which feels thick and sturdy and the best quality you can get in leather terms.

Every inch of it has been well thought out with great craftsmanship – even the interior is lined and quilted with a gorgeous tan dogtooth fabric.  It can fit up to a 16inch laptop and a vast array of compartments (you guys know how much I love compartments in a bag, right?) and for someone who somehow manages to pack everything and her kitchen sink for a day out of the house, this has become my go-to work bag.  I’m just chuffed with it and know it’ll last me a life time.

No such thing as too much colour! My go to look in autumn is a yellow/red/orange jumper and some navy or black polka dot or gingham trousers with ankle boots/docs. Or a red/yellow/orange dress with a patterned jacket and ankle boots

I love the pink jumper! My go-to outfit for autumn is traditionally black jeans, Chelsea boots, and a monochrome jumper!

As a lover of layering myself, autumn is by far my favourite time of year! I also applaud you for breaking away from neutrals and sporting something of the bright pink and fluffy variety instead. Beautiful!

I like this time of the year, too. I could wear this style all day in Fall, jeans with jumper and a comfortable pair of boots like yours.
