OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Summer Rain

You can never predict summer weather in London and so it’s good to have a good variety of clothing options to chuck on in case of sudden downpour!

I chucked this outfit on last week for a cheeky Nandos dinner trip when East London was feeling very wet & sorry for itself!  I am obsessed with my new denim jacket from Boohoo (available here).  I think I’ve got it in a size 10 which is perfect as it’s already slightly oversized meaning I can fit on mutiple layers & a hoodie underneath.I teamed it with a lace top to add a bit of femininity to the look (New Look), a black hoodie (Primark) and my favourite skinny jeans (Topshop).

Looking at these pictures also makes me realise just how much weight I’ve put on recently too – I have my mother to thank for the family curse of big thighs so I really need to get my ass in gear and start working out on a daily basis. Anyway…

I’m debating whether or not to take this jacket to V Festival this weekend or just stick with a trusty rain mac instead?  It’ll be my first ever camping experience and in all honesty I’m petrified – of drunk people, having to walk past mountains of vomit (are festival camps like that?), having things stolen and not getting any sleep.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you got any festival camping tips?

So sorry I don't have any festival camping tips but I think rubber boots are essential 🙂 Like your rainy day look!

I was really scared about going to a festival too! I went to Cambridge folk festival this year and I think each festival is very unique and different to what happens. (Boomtown security was terrible from reviews) This festival felt really safe, well staffed and no drunk people or vomit in sights but I think V festival targets a younger audience. I would say only take things you don't mind losing and keep everything you care for in your bag. Or lock it in a car if you are taking a car. Take a good pillow and even a duvet to make you feel more at ease camping. I always went to the toilets with my boyfriend for safety and so I knew I had someone with me at all times. I also took a portable phone charger so I could always have my phone on me and charge it on the go. Try and stay near a quieter part of the festival, if possible the family sight if they do one as that will be more tame and friendly. But honestly, I had the absolute best time and I hope you come away feeling that heavy excited heart at experiencing a festival! X

This outfit looks so comfy and is the perfect match for the mixed weather we've been having in London! I took both a mac and a demin jacket to the Isle of Wight festival this year but it turned out I only really needed the mac. The festivals I've been too have been free of vomit mountains and no drunks have ever fallen into my tent – so try not to worry too much 🙂 I'd suggest bringing a small padlock to put on your tent's zipper if you don't feel safe leaving your stuff in the tent! xx

Thank you so much for this comment, it's already put me at ease! I'm def thinking of taking a padlock – the tent we have has a little 'porch' bit so will just lock up the sleeping bit. xx

Love that jacket and your hair is awesome! The last festival I went to, it was raining the whole time and water got into absolutely everything (including the tent and our bedding). Even if it's not raining and you're sleeping in a tent, make sure you pull whatever you're sleeping on away from the edges of the tent. Even the morning dew will soak through the sides of your tent a bit and can leave your bedding damp for days. Also I would highly recommend taking gum boots of some sort; especially if it's wet. Any mosh pit that is on damp ground will very quickly turn to mush and you don't want to be wearing shoes you care about. Try to pitch your tent away from any main walkways (it'll be noisy late at night) and never go anywhere on your own for safety. Hope you have the greatest time! 🙂

Skinny and jean jacket is not a bad choice for camping….You may look so active and trendy, perfect 🙂

I believe, my sweet wife definitely love this fashionable dress. I just sent her this link hope she will excited to use it to the next camping trip. But it is really bad experience in camping to save a good dress in the tent. So we use best camping tents for our camping trip.
