LIFESTYLE: Afternoon Tea at Lady Dinah’s Cat Cafe!

So as you know Andrew and I recently moved
to Bethnal Green in East London.  We
absolutely love it here, it pretty much has everything we need on the high
street which is at the top of our road.
On my walk to work one day I realized that we actually live 5 minutes
from London’s one and only Cat Café and instantly booked a table for afternoon
tea!

I’m very much a cat person and dream of the
day I can have my own (this flat doesn’t allow pets) and so the thought of
sipping tea, eating cake and petting kitties is perfect!

After arriving at the café you enter a room
in which you wash your hands & are told the café rules such as don’t feed
the cats your cake, don’t lift them up (but you can pet & stroke them) and
don’t wake any cats that are sleeping.

Once we were seated at our table we ordered cream tea & scones and a delicious salted caramel brownie to chomp on whilst coo-ing over the cats.  Quite a few of them were napping when we got there (after 4pm) but woke up half way through.  There are 3 new kittens in the cafe who are ADORABLE and we had so much fun playing with the newest kitten Alice.

On every table in the cafe are little toys that you can use to play with the cats which was a nice touch.  I also fell in love with a cat called Petra; super fluffy and adventurous!  All of the cats have names and their own little personalities which you can read about on their website here, before you visit!

We had a lovely afternoon in the cafe and I really want to visit again soon!

Have you ever been to a cat cafe?

xx

We really want to take my step daughter but getting there would be really tough. She has a condition called Williams syndrome which tends to cause quite obsessive behaviour and her biggest obsession is cats, she just Loves cats – We would struggle, possibly, with the not waking a sleeping cat one but as long as we could direct her to an awake one it would be ok.

I've been following this place for a while, since before they opened, absolutely love the idea of it.

This looks so cute! I've been to cat cafes before when I was in Japan a few years ago, I always thought they were so much fun but it's something I never thought would take off in the UK. I live in Scotland and one has opened in Edinburgh which I've been meaning to go to, it looks really good!

I've been dying to go here ever since I saw the place in Company magazine. Next trip to London I'm there. Owning that place would be heaven on earth! Cat lady and proud!

    I love cats! 🙂

Katie, would you mind sharing what you wrote your dissertation on for your Bachelor's? Your area of study interests me a lot and it would be so interesting to know more about what your studies were about! 🙂
