Favourite Hair Oils for dry hair!

I didn’t actually start using hair oils until around the start of 2011 but they have now become a staple in my ‘getting ready’ hair routine!  Read on to see a few of my favs!

BC Oil Miracle Light Finishing Treatment – I have been using this for a couple of years now and I really like it.  It has a light, almost talcum-powder like scent and as it’s a light oil, it’s perfect for use on both dry and wet hair, without leaving it greasy looking.  I am currently trying to finish this one up so it might feature in an empties post soon!

Ojon Damage Reverse – I wasn’t a fan of this the first couple of times I tried it as I found that it didn’t help comb through my hair when wet, but I’ve found that it works better just applying the tiniest bit through the ends of my hair when dry, to smooth and add silki-ness.  If I curl or plait my hair, I might just smooth a tad of this over my ends to finish the look off.

Mythic Oil Colour Glow Oil – This is the newest oil in my possession and my first impressions of it are positive.  It’s the only oil in this bunch which has a pump which makes using it much easier (and less messy than pouring it into your hand), it smells good and leaves my hair silky.

Morroccan Oil – I’ll say now that this is my favourite oil of the bunch!  Firstly, I LOVE the smell of this so much. Secondly, it is the perfect thick texture of oil which I apply after washing my hair, to help comb through.  I only have a sample size of this which I’ve nearly run out of so I need to get another one soon!  I don’t quite know how I managed to live without this to tame my hair which gets knotted so easily.

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment – I like this oil and use it often but it’s nothing to rave about, I prefer the incredible hair mask that’s available in the Macadamia hair range (review here)!

I realised after I took the photographs for this post that I do actually have a few more oils which I use so maybe I’ll do a part 2 at some point, if you are interested at all?

What’s your favourite hair oil?

My hair is oily, so all I use hair oils for is hot oil hair treatments. I currently use coconut oil for them.

I don't actually own any hair oils other than samples I've got with beauty boxes so need to get myself some I think. Been looking at Morroccan Oil for a while and think you've swayed me 🙂 Really helpful post, thanks

I have one hair oil and its a VO5 one which was okay however, I managed to spill it all over my desk which was a nightmare to clean, so I need to buy a new one. These were all one's I have been considering and was great to see a review of them all together and has definitely helped me rule some out. Thank you. x

I've never used hair oils before, but I have those Nuxe oils from my Glossyboxes.. I just worry that it will make my hair extra greasy. I've heard that the Wen oil is good too? Have you tried that before?

I have Moroccan Oil too and I love it! My hair feels so much nicer now that I've started using it, and it doesn't make my hair greasy which is nice 🙂

Sadly my hair is so oily that a drop of oil renders it chip fat greasy. Argan oil looks great, kind of wish I could use it 😛

So I'm Indian and been brought up for years to use hair oil in my life. I remember loads of people in school were weirded out but we use coconut oil, amla oil and almond oil. They all do different things from making your hair strong to making it more silky smooth!

I didn't think the Ojon one was that great – it took me so long to use it up.
The Moroccan Oil is my all time fave too – it just makes my hair look glossy & sleek.

My hair gets greasy very easily so I've never liked the idea of hair oils. However, I've been reading some amazing reviews about the Moroccanoil so I can't wait to give it a try – specially if it smells so good.

I don't have a favorite hair oil but it's obviously something that attracts attention. Covering product lines is a blogger best practice mentioned by some iFabbo gurus. The iFabbo attendees at #iFabboSFcon 2013 are pushing fashion and beauty into social media. Check out their ideas. http://alfidicapitalblog.blogspot.com/2013/10/alfidi-capital-at-ifabbo-conference.html

Moroccan oil is my fave too! I'm currently using the tresemme oil as I was on the lookout for a cheaper alternative to but it's just not as good! Moroccan oil is thicker and more luxurious! X

The mythic and ojon oils just sat on my hair and left it feeling heavy. Ive tried and liked the others though as they seemed to be absorbed. X

I love the Moroccan oil too. I also love the Charles Worthington Miracle Hair Elixir Oil. Have you tried it? x

Hair oils are definitely a great thing for any kind of hair, esp dry hair. Moroccan oil has been getting lots of praises but there are several natural oils out there that provide excellent moisturising and nourishing benefits!
