TRESemme Platinum Strength Range Reviews!

For the last two weeks I have been using a brand new range to wash my hair and just couldn’t wait to tell you guys about it.  It normally takes me a while to test out new hair care products and to see the difference it makes to the overall condition and look of my hair but after around 8 washes I can already tell you that I am in love with these products!

First of all, I should start off by saying that my hair is quite damaged from 6 years of bleaching and it’s only in the last year that I have been growing my hair out and embracing my natural colour.  As well as having dry tips and thick hair which gets matted after a few hours without brushing, it also gets quite greasy, very quickly on the roots (which explains my LOVE of dry shampoo).  It is mostly my fringe that suffers (probs because of my forehead), but I thought I should mention this before I review the range.

So, TRESemme have recently launched their new Platinum Strength range, which is made up of five products all aimed at putting strength, manageability and softness back into hair which has suffered due to dying, bleaching, heated styling tools etc.  The products have a ‘special technology’ in them which helps to reform the hair ‘lipids’ making the hair follicle more smooth and strong.

On to the products – first of all, the Instant Rescue Shots are incredible.  These little babies are to be left on the hair for 60 seconds and will leave your hair feeling oh so soft.  I naturally like to leave my conditioners in for a little longer than that, so after three minutes and after rinsing out I can honestly say that my hair hadn’t looked so soft in a very long time (apart from the last time I used the Phillip Kingsly Elastiser, which is fab but a hassle to use).  And for only £1.49 per shot it’s much more affordable (I managed to get two uses out of each individual shot).

The Platinum Strength Shampoo & Conditioner are also hero products, making my hair soft and manageable.  These two products have also managed to help my greasy roots (no idea how!) but now my hair looks a lot fresher and cleaner for longer which is a big deal for me.  The shampoo foams up nicely which makes my hair feel really clean.

There is a leave in conditioner in the range, named the Platinum Strength Stay Soft Leave In which is a light cream which I run through my hair before drying.  Finally, there is a Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment which is a deep conditioner which you can leave in for 3-5 minutes for an even more intense condition.  As with all TRES products, the range smells incredible and everything is so affordable and easy to get hold of.  The range starts at £1.49 and goes up to just under £6.

Will you be giving Platinum Strength a try?  What’s your favourite intensely nourishing hair treatment?

I'd love to try this on my Ombre hair! My favourite nourishing hair treatment is surprisingly Superdrugs own coconut mask, it does wonders and it's under a fiver 🙂

My hair is in serious need of rescuing after several bleaching sessions and loads of heat styling. This couldn't have come at a better time for me.

I used to bleach my hair and whenever i got roots, theyd become greasy very quickly, its because the roots are 'new hair' and theyfore better at retaining mouisture etc, so when the rest of your hair is dry and not soaking up as much, the roots do and it make them look greasy, but thos is obviously making your hair better condition and your roots dont need to soak up as much because the rest of your hair is. The range sounds incredible, i need to get my hands on it as your hair type sounds just like mine! Xxx

Have you ever tried a vinegar rinse? I don't have damaged hair but use it whenever I wash my hair – keeps it really really soft, shiny, completely tangle-free, removes all product build-up etc without being stripping or harsh and obviously costs next to nothing. And no, your hair doesn't smell like vinegar after it dries! I don't even use any sort of conditioner at all now – just shampoo, rinse with water, rinse with vinegar rinse, and done 🙂

The deep conditioner and shots sound really good! Even though I don't dye my hair it goes through a fair amount of heat styling and I can't stand having dry ends!!

It would be great if you guys checked out my blog on all things teenage and maybe follow while you're there? 😀

I am very much in the same hair-boat as you – bleach is a killer! I really do try and look after it now and this range looks like a godsend, definitely something I will be trying out.

Have you tried Tresemme's reconstructive deep conditioner? It's one of their hidden gems!

I've recently bought the conditioner and it leaves my hair in good condition. My only issue with it is that no matter how hard I scrub and how vigourously i rinse it out, when my hair has dried I have hard greasy roots, so my hair looks like it's not been washed. I'll keep using the bottle until I run out but I won't be buying it again :(. I'll stick with my trusty Herbal Essences seductively straight.

I was a little nervous about using the Shielo Leave In Protector at first (im VERY careful about what I put on my hair), but my fears were instantly erased the moment I first sprayed it in my hair. My hair felt STRONG! I didn't have any breakage, no tangles, and it was SHINY.

I put the shielo oil in afterwards, left it in overnight. I didn't shampoo my hair until the day after that.

Two days later I had blonde highlights put into my hair which would normally turn my hair into straw for a few days, but this didn't happen. Give it a shot it will definitely help you.

I have a very big problem with the containers of all Tresemme products. They tend to get clogged up , hence a lot of conditioner is wasted.

The lip type dispenser is too narrow.
