Cover FX Cream Foundation Before & After Review!

I recently popped along to an event to celebrate the launch of Cover FX’s new fall products.  They have recently repackaged and reformulated a few of their base products, in particular their Total Cover Cream Foundations and Powder Foundations and have extended the shade range to include an impressive 28 shades, so there will be a perfect match for everyone!

After being matched up to the Total Cover Cream Foundation and having been testing it for a good few weeks, I thought I would show you before and after shots with the foundation to show you how good it really is!

(sorry for the horrid before shots, I’ve been super run down lately and have been drinking too much alcohol and milky hot chocolate, giving me terrible skin!).

As normal, I will review the product in the specific categories that I most rate foundations for!

Colour: The colour range is amazing and there are even two shades lighter than me available.  I am an N20 in this foundation although I think in the winter I could probably do with a little lighter.  There are three colour categories: N which is neutral skin tones, G which is golden tones and P which is pink tones – there really is a shade for everyone.  I urge you to go and check the other shades out.

Formula/Texture: This is a thick and creamy cream which has a full coverage when applied on the face.  You can build this up to have more coverage in particular places on bad skin.  I love how this looks on my skin although I do find my skin gets quite oily through the day so it doesn’t last as long as I’d hoped.

Price: I personally think this quite expensive at £37.  I do think it will last a while as you don’t need to use much, but still I’d tag this as a luxurious product.  The results however are pretty incredible so it may be worth it to some people?

SPF: Contains SPF30 which is perfect for all year round!

Extras:  Packaging is good, contains a mirror and a little sponge to apply, which is hidden under a flap underneath the cream, although I prefer using a brush so I think its a little unnecessary.

What I think – I obviously really, really do love this foundation – it has an incredible coverage and lasts pretty well on the skin although I definitely think I need a shade lighter.  For £37, I’m not positive I would purchase it again, but probably only because it is so similar to my favourite foundation which is MAC’s full coverage (review here).  I would highly recommend this to girls with blemished and acne prone skin as it does a tremendous job of concealing  imperfections!

This foundation is available to purchase from the Harvey Nichs website!

What’s your favourite high coverage foundation?  Are you tempted to try this?

The results are great, but for the price, Demablend is exactly the same for coverage, if not better, lasts a long time and is only around the £15 price point.

I wouldn't pay £37 for a foundation, it's way too much. I don't think it gives a good coverage either. I love the review you did on MAC foundation, that's got to be my favourite foundation yet

Cover fx is more skincare driven thats the reason why it cost a little more. it has more coverage than mac and it is made by dermatologist. Healthy is always better than just masking skin.

Wow the coverage is absolutely fab! I'm back to my trusty revlon colorstay as i'm requiring full coverage after my wake me up and touche éclat weren't good enough. I'd definitely think about asking for this as a christmas gift! xx

aw i was hoping this would be an easier to get hold of/cheaper dupe of the mac full coverage you reviewed. ive been wanting that mac one ever since you posted that review but dont want to buy it without seeing it in the flesh, and dont know where my nearest pro store is! it's good that this brand do a good range of shades for pale ladies, i always find higher priced brands to be too dark usually. the price is definitely out of my league though! must track down the mac one though.

ive been having terrible spotty-chin-skin myself recently too, i feel your pain! however ive been using the 1% BHA gel exfoliator by paula's choice, it's REALLY clearing up my skin and actually making me glow in the mornings! (and NOT in my usual hideous teenage greaseball skin kinda way, in a lovely way?!). i think it's similar to the la roche posay thingy (i forget its proper name) that seems to be *it* at the mo. it's seriously brilliant, my skin feels better than its ever been, would defo recommend!

    hope you feel better soon!

The finish is really nice! I do think it's a lot of money for just 10 grams, so I would at least have to be able to sample it to see if it breaks me out or not.

I think it looks great, and it doesn't look too dark on you in these pics. How did you apply it?

  21. November 30, 2012 / 2:00 am

I don't mind paying extra money for better quality products, especially for foundation! Absolutely love the before and after shots. Obviously its great for full coverage, especially for acne prone skin, but does it feel super heavy and oily after a few hours? That's my main concern. :s

Holy craps this looks amazing! Coverage of max double wear but less 'flat' looking and a nice natural colour, doesn't look like its too thick either! EXPENSIVE THOUGH. Almost £40, erm… Does it last long? lol x
