We are now at the final in my 2014 Favourites Series! I’ve left foundations & concealers till last because I’ve found some corkers this year and was excited to share them!
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: This is still my all time favourite concealer. Full stop. It has been a staple in my handbag for the past 3 years or so because the perfect colour for my pale skin, available for a great price on the high-street and perfect it covers all imperfections incredibly!
MAC Studio Fix Concealer: I picked this up on a whim during a MAC shop visit on my birthday in the summer and used it for months afterwards. It’s a heavy coverage concealer which is amazing for problem skin. Now it does look extremely dark and orange compared to all the other products in this post (despite being an NC15) so I would only really use this in the summer but I love it!
MAC Full Coverage Foundation: This is one of my absolute favourite foundations which I’ve only just recently been able to get my hands on again because it was out of stock for months! You can see the full review with before and after pictures here to see just why I love it. It really great coverage for blemished skin but still manages to look natural!
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation: This has been my most used foundation of 2014. It’s light, easy to wear, in a great colour range and doesn’t break me out at all. Bobbi Brown have some real lovely base products to their name and I’m going to be reviewing them all properly in 2015.
Illamasqua Skin Base: At first I was unsure about this much raved-about foundation but I have grown to love and adore it. I can’t express how much of a beautiful, flawless base it gives me, even when suffering with acne. It comes in a massive range of shades for all skin tones and blends in gorgeously to the skin leaving airbrushed but not in a cakey one. One thing though – I feel like it does slightly break me out, so I tend to only wear this now for special occasions.
There we have it – a complete run down of my favourite products from 2014. Sorry they’ve dragged on a bit but I just had an awful lot to share! I’m really excited for all the new product launches and discoveries this year so I hope you join me for another year of beauty reviews on my blog!
What were your favourite foundations/concealers of 2014? Let me know!

I definitely need to get my hands on some Bobbi Brown products this year, I'm very excited to try it!

What do you think about the La Mer Concealer? Do you know them? It´s now a little bit a hype in Germany about La Mer and it´s concealer has descriptions like "the one and only holy grail".
Love, Iv
for me it's the double wear concealer and the laura mercier smooth finish flawless fluide
Great post Katie! Nice to hear your thoughts on some of these. My favourite foundation is my NARS Sheer Glow 🙂 x

I got matched to a MAC Pro Longwear concealer in November it was honestly the best decision I could have made – it's like my very own airbrush tool. But 2014's foundation standout for me was undoubtedly Smashbox's Liquid Halo – I absolutely fell in love with it!
Loved reading about your picks, will definitely be sampling that Bobbi Brown next time I'm at a counter!

Great post! I haven't tried any of these (at least I don't think) so will be definitely trying some out soon. I have a friend who is a makeup artist and she swears by the illamasqua skin base!

Hi!
I love your blog! Just discovered it today! <3
The MAC Studio Fix Concealer is awesome! I bought the last June and I almost finished it!
It's perfect for my skin because since I moved in UK my skin is a mess (different food, weather and stuff) and this concealer really helps me to cover perfectly all the blemishes!
My fav foundation is the Pro Longwear Foundation by MAC, but it is quite heavy and I'm still looking for something lighter!
See ya!

Hi Katie,
Great post! My skin is so similar to yours even the color. It is oily, with blemishes and tend to break out. I tried Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation. I agree that it is light weight but the lavender essence causes itchy skin and my T-zone looks so oily even if I use a setting power. How do you use it?
I currently own MAC Mineralize Foundation SPF 15 foundation for the full coverage. It is also very good. Did you try it? if yes, can you compare with MAC Full Coverage Foundation?
Thanks a lot!

Great post and choices but I'm pretty sure that's the Mac prolongwear concealer photographed not the studio fix which I think comes in a little pot. Both are awesome though
I want to try the full coverage foundation so much!
Great products!

the collection one is my fave too; so affordable and so good! I never really bother trying any others because I just have this in 2 shades and it works for me for everything

I really want to try a Bobbi Brown foundation, and this one sounds like my cup of tea, I always go for lightweight as I feel they sit and look way better on my skin. Also, I never thought about trying the Illamasqua one, but that is also going on my list! I've been looking for a new concealer, and the collection one is always raved about, but I've been trying to avoid the hype… Maybe I should just give in haha!
Great review of them all 🙂

All these products sound amazing! Have you tried any of the professional make up brands like Graftobian specifically designed for HD camera lenses? These brands are used for actors during filming and are formulated to look as natural as your own skin — their concealers are great! x

I have to try that studio fix concealer. I haven't had much luck with MAC's skincare line- sometime I find it so cake-y. But I'm up to trying this!

Some of their products are definitely very cakey but this one is amazing if you have blemishes that are a bugger to cover! xx
I love the Collection concealer too, use it all the time (:

We love the same foundation. You should also try Catrice Skin Illusion. Very similar to Bobbi.
I also love the collection concealer! Amazing, I use it all the time!

I really don't get the hype around the Collection concealer, it oxidised so badly on me and even the lightest shade became too dark under my eyes. You have very pale skin to surprised to see it here : o
Really surprised by this comment! I've never had trouble with any oxidisation with this product at all (but have with other concealers and foundations). The fairest shade stays perfect on me (I do always set with a translucent powder) and doesn't leave me orange at all! xx
