I’m back with another catch up of what I’ve been up to recently! These are from the last three weeks, I’ve been crazy busy as usual and have been out most evenings socializing which is most unlike me!
I’ve been to the theatre, lots of restaurants and lots of blogger events. Work has also been really good and my creativity is flowing.

1) New pale CC cream’s from Gosh launching soon
2) The incredible Zoella bought me macaroons!
3) Helping Tanya sort her makeup kit out – I was in makeup heaven

Catch up
I was recently asked on Twitter if I could write a post about how I got my job so I’m currently typing it up, although it’s turning out to be a massive post all about my work history. If you like the sound of this let me know and I’ll be sure to publish it.
I filmed a makeup tutorial yesterday, a simple one but the before and after shots are really impressive, I can’t wait to publish it. I also trekked out to Streatham last night to watch a friend perform with his band. They are called Whisky Jax and they are super cool so check them out here –

In terms of books, I’ve read one this month so far – The End of Alice is was super disturbing and I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t like graphic novels. I’ve just downloaded Nabokov’s Lolita to read next – have you read it? This week ahead is going to be super busy with lots of work drinks and catching up with friends I haven’t seen in a while so the next catch up post should be interesting!

Aww Balthazar is so cute! How did he come to have one ear? I really like Lolita, Nabokov has this incredible way with language and the characters are wonderfully twisted. It's an amazing study in desire and manipulation. A really great read.

One of the best books I've read recently is The City and the City by China Mieville. I can't explain it very eloquently but it's a bit sci fi, about two cities that exist in the same space and time, and when you're in one city you're not allowed to "see" the other. Have a look at it!

In terms of books, well, I'm not sure what genres you like, but I'm reading The Daylight Wat at the moment which is the third instalment of The Demon Cycles, an amazing fantasy series, I highly recommend those.
Or if you'd like a crime novel, I love the David Hunter books of Simon Beckett, especially now in the summertime.

an author that I've enjoyed recently is Jennifer Egan, I really liked Look at Me and A Visit from the Goon Squad. I would recommend her!
Not sure how into fantasy you are but The Wheel of Time series is incredible and has 14 books in it. It will keep you going forever! I really like it.

love your blog(and your little hamster-too cute!). Based on what you've been reading and your query re Lolita, I'd recommend Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews. It's challenging, atmospheric and also very sad, but an excellent book. I read it in one sitting over the course of a whole day and was loathed when I had to put the book down for even a moment. Utterly engrossing- for me anyway.
As for Lolita, it's a good book and I think you'll enjoy it. I haven't read The End of Alice, but the two sound like the are in the same vein.
Amazing collection of photos! I'm starting to read The sins of House Borgia because I loved the tv show, but it was cancelled and I want to know he whole story. I did a similar post on my blog if you want to check it out

It looks like things are going well for you! 🙂 And I really really recommend you read anything and everything by Haruki Murakami, the Oslo trilogy by Jo Nesbo and anything by Angela Carter (though The Bloody Chamber is my favourite). The End of Alice sounds right up my street (I'm not a weirdo, but I do enjoy disturbing reads) so I'll be giving that a read some time soon. Lolita is one of my all time favourites so I do hope you enjoy it xxx
