Winter Kissing!

This time of the year is always full of love, merriness and kissing (I personally think Christmas is the most romantic time of the year).  So, what better than a post on how to keep your mouth on top form for all that snogging?

027

First up – your toothbrush is important!  For the last two months I have been using the Colgate ProClinic A1500 which is the newest electrical toothbrush on the market.  This bad boy is pretty impressive as it automatically adjusts its speed depending on the angle that you hold it, meaning that it is good for both gums and teeth.  I also ADORE that it has a little pacer which alerts you every 30 seconds with a little beep so that you know when to change to another section of your mouth (it also stops after two minutes to ensure that you brush for the full recommended time).  I must admit it did take a little getting used to as the vibrations are very high (and also very loud) but after one week I realised that I really enjoy using this instead of a manual toothbrush and my mouth really does feel better for it!

Next – toothpaste!  I love toothpastes that leave my mouth feeling super minty and look for ones which are whitening as well.  Recently I have been switching up between Oral B’s 3D White Brilliance toothpaste and Blanx products!  You’ve probably seen that Holly Williguby is the face of the Oral B 3D White which itself is enough to get me to use it – but it really does the job of making my mouth feel minty and clean.  I am also a big fan of Blanx products.  I use the Extra White paste in the smaller tube for two weeks every month as it is an intense whitening treatment.  Blank toothpastes come with a little colour chart so you can notice the progress of the whiteness of your teeth.  I can’t say I have noticed any miracle changes in the colour of my teeth but let’s just say that are pretty white despite all the tea & red wine I drink.

Finally – Gum!  I always have a packet of chewing gum in my bag and my favourite at the moment is by Mentos!  I normally just buy Extra gum but I think Mentos gum is much nicer.  It’s slightly harder to find in shops (some newsagents have them though) but I find them a lot more minty and the taste lasts much longer.  They also have lots of different flavours (the strawberry is really nice too).

There we have it, by top tips for kissing and fresh breath this winter!  Have fun y’all (but keep safe)!

What are your favourite toothpastes and gum?

For some reason I always find other people's routines fascinating and apparently teeth hygiene is no exception to that!
I couldn't live without my mini bottle of mouthwash though, it's worth having one in your handbag to keep your mouth fresh throughout the day

I still can't decide whether electrical or manual toothbrush is better for my sensitive gums, but I should give it a shot. I use gums protective and whitening toothpastes like Colgate, Lacalut and others.

I'm rather old fashioned and love arm and hammer toothpaste, the stuff with all of the baking soda in, and despite drinking black coffee and red wine with alarming regularity, I get a lot of compliments on my teeth! That toothbrush sounds fantastic, and a very worthy investment. x

Great post! I want to try all of the things mentioned now! Did you notice any sensitivity after using them, though?

I use Crest 3D Professional Effects Teeth Whitening stripes – they're very effective! You'll see a noticable difference after 1 treatment. They're also pretty affordable.
