Favourite Beauty Products of 2012!

Okay, okay I’m a little late with this but it’s only because I had trouble narrowing down all my favourites from the past year!  It’s been a great year for makeup and I’ve discovered and found a load of new, incredible beauty products!  I’ve split my favourites in to three categories: Base & Face, Eyes and Lips!

Base & Face Products

Foundation has to go to MAC’s Full Coverage Foundation which has lasted me so well, even after constant use.  This foundation gives me such good coverage even when my skin is horrendous.  (Runner up goes to Cover FX’s Total Cover Cream foundation).  Concealer of the year has to be Collection 2000’s Long Lasting Perfecting concealer, this is an absolute bargain product which now goes everywhere with me (I’ve also got my Mum AND Dad addicted to this!).  Gives coverage and lasts well on the skin!  Fair is the perfect shade for my pale skin.  Eye Primer has to be the famous Urban Decays Primer Potion (no need to discuss why).  Highlighter of the year is MAC’s Lustre Drops in Pink Rebel; this liquid highlighter gives me the most natural glow.  Favourite blusher of the year goes to another affordable product; 17’s Blusher in Brickie.  This shade has a great pigmentation and goes well with my skin all year round.  Finally, big thumbs up for the Real Techniques Buffing Brush for helping apply my foundation perfectly!

Lip Products

Four products here which have kept my lips in top shape and which have been used almost daily!  Firstly to keep my lips soft I have used The Body Shop’s Cocoa Butter Lipbalm; it smells like chocolate and keeps my lips moisturized.  To line my lips my favourite product has been The Body Shop’s Lip Liner in Pink Brown, it is the perfect natural shade for my lips.  Favourite Lipstick is my holy grail lippie, which is Barely There by Sleek Makeup.  New Entry is in the form of Stila’s Stay All Day Lipstick in Dolce which come in a variety of beautiful shades which are deeply pigmented and last on the lips!

Eye Products
Favourite Palette of the year has to be the HD Brows Palette in Vamp – I used this as both brow and eyeshadow powders throughout 2012 as the shades are just perfect for daily wear.  MAC’s Nylon Eyeshadow wins Favourite Individual Eyeshadow award for it’s beauty and ability to go with any other shade.  Max Factors False Lash Effect Mascara was my favourite mascara, it makes my lashes look amazing!  I had a few different favourite eyeliners, I’ll start with my favourite Pen Eyeliner which is Eyeko’s Skinny Liner in Black – it is super pigmented and the nib is the perfect size to draw a thin line.  I have two favourite Kohl Eyeliners for 2012 (naughty!) which are Bourjois’s Shadow and Light pencils and Rimmel’s Scandaleyes Pencils, both come in great colours and are super pigmented and soft so they don’t hurt my eyes.  Gel liner goes to Maybelline’s Gel Liner!  Favourite Eyeshadow Brushes again goes to Real Techniques – they are so soft and come in great sizes and shapes so there is a brush for every look!

I hope this has been slightly interesting?  I didn’t know how to lay this post out so let me know if it was easy or difficult to read (and if you prefer it to last year’s which you can read here).  I also have a 2012 favourite body, hair and skin products post coming up in a few days so stay tuned for that!

Have you favoured any of the same products as me?  What was your favourite all time product of 2012?

I absolutely agree with the Max Factor mascara as a fave, I currently use the MF FLE fusion (purple one) and just cannot find a mascara that comes anywhere near as good(the Clinique high impact is a great mascara for a more natural, lengthened look though), also, the Real Techniques brushes were a fairly recent purchase of mine, and I love them so much, I threw out all my other brushes, except 2 Body Shop ones!

Hi Katie, I cannot see a Full Coverage Foundation on Mac's website. Is it a discontinued product?

Hi! No, it's not discontinued, it's just a PRO product which is only available in PRO MAC stores! xx
