Glossy Box and Jolie Box December 2012 Review & Contents. Comparison!

I received both my Glossybox and Jolie box on the same day this month so I thought I might as well stick them both into one post and give them each a little write up!

Glossybox December 2012

Lemon EDP by Mary Greenwell – I’m more of a fan of vanilla and wood based scents where as this is super fruity so it isn’t my personal cup of tea.  It’ll be going straight into my sample and sachet bag.

Rituals Magic Touch Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk – I love Rituals body products are being introduced to their Foaming Shower Gel in last year’s December Glossybox and this doesn’t disappoint.  This body moisturizer makes my hands feel soft and it smells great.  Also a great size for travelling.

Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Stiletto – Sleek makeup are in my top 3 makeup brands on the high-street so I was very excited to see this brand in the box.  I already own this lipstick in Stiletto (which is the most perfect glam red shade) so I’ll probably let my Mum or Sister fight over who gets to keep it!  You can see my Sleek lipstick swatches here and here.

Seche Nail Polish – I’ve never tried this nail brand before despite hearing lots about their famous Seche Vite top coat which is apparently a miracle product, so I’m looking forward to giving this plum pink polish a try.

Glossybox Blusher – I always find that whenever Glossybox put a product of their own in their boxes, the products are usually very poor and cheap looking (like the blusher brush received a few months ago which is ridiculously scratchy on my skin).  This blusher does look cheap but the colour is nice and pigmented and doesn’t look chalky on the skin.

Natural Honey Body Milk – Oh my gosh this is just divine!  I really, really love the smell of this product although I can’t put my finger on what it reminds me of (I think it slightly resembles the fragrance of the Clynol Colour Care hair range which I love!).  This cream sinks in quickly to the skin leaving it soft!

I love… Strawberries and Milkshake Lip Gloss – Another incredible smelling product although I dislike lip glosses so I’ll be passing this on to someone who will get lots of use out of it.

Olay Regenerist Skin Cream – I already have a sample of this so will pass this onto Mum.  I do like Olay products but they all seem to be catered for those especially after anti aging products.  Saying that, it really is never to early to start using them yourself.

Bella Pierre Shimmer Powder Pink  – This is a bright pink shimmery eye shadow powder but I think pink eye shadow always looks horrendous so I will try this out lightly as a blusher instead.  This is a full size product though which is nice!

Colour Club ‘Put a Pin In It’ Nail Polish – A gorgeous mini sparkly polish for the winter season!

Doctor Duve Hand and Nail Cream – I like hand creams but I dislike sachets of product, much preferring a little tube or pot as they are easier to try out.

Agua De Colonia Concentrada – This fragrance is over 100 years old which is quite interesting (I love products with a story).

What I think – Both of these boxes have a selection of good and not so good products.  I love that Sleek have been featured in Glossybox, Sleek are one of my fav brands ever and a lot of people have never heard of them so I’m glad they’re getting some recognition.  The body lotions in both boxes are absolutely lovely and I can’t wait to test them out all winter!   However, last December I was really impressed with the contents of both of these boxes so this Christmas has been a little let down in the beauty box department.   You can see last years Glossybox December Box Review here & JolieBox’s December Box here.

Which box do you prefer this month?  Will you be keeping your subscriptions in the New Year?

Probably Glossybox, contents are more appealing to me, as I don't like lipglosses and anti aging products as I don't feel I need yet. We don't have these in my country, but we have different box which I am yet to try.

Both are looking good but if I'd choose one of them I'd choose Glossybox:)

In France for Decembre Jolie box was not as good as yours. Only few products blush Bourjois, Tony&guy Shampooing, 1 nail laquer Color Club (not so nice), 1 product from Weleda.
Personally I stop the subscription and I`m waiting till their box will be like Birchbox (at the same price if possible because 13 euros is a little bit expensive)

I feel that beauty boxes in the UK are always so much better! Dying to get my hands on sleek products! x

I am subscribed to both boxes and I think its swings and roundabouts each month with every box, it all depends on your personal preferences. I was more disappointed with GB this month, I dislike how they try and bulk up the box with one of their own products. I've only been subscribed to Joliebox a few months now but think I might drop my GB subscription and just stick with JB in the new year.

Every time I see a Jolie Box review I feel tempted to subscribe to that too but I think I will stick to the Glossy Box for now. I just get so excited over the idea of getting more surprises!

I am quite happy with my Glossybox and absolutely adore the rituals body cream, it smells so good!!! and though I love the colour of Seche nail lacquer I got (a mauve shade with purple undertones) I am a tad jealous as yours also sounds lovely!

I STILL haven't subscribed to either 🙁 Its just I don't want to waste money on products that I won't use or that I wouldn't like, I don't know what to do haha sometimes I see the posts and get so jealous and other times I'm so glad I didn't subscribe! Ahh decisions!

I'm not subscribed to these – I don't really like surprises and I'd be annoyed if I didn't like anything in them! I considered them a while back, but looking at reviews I swear they used to be better? x

I prefer your Jolie Box over your Glossy Box products, but I like when I got in my December Glossy Box better. Ha. I've never tried Jolie box before, which tends to be the best?

Both boxes seem a bit naff- they are ignoring the high-end element of what a beauty box should be. At this time of year they shouldve pulled out all the stops for a real "wow" box.
